Hide Default Location in Open/Save Dialogs


This is an addition, or rather Part 2 of the post: Hide Libraries in Windows Explorer View

The information in this post allows for you as administrator to remove the options found in the Open/Save dialog boxes. This has been used for Microsoft Office 2003.

See below:

As standard:

The options on the left can be hidden by adding the following keys to the registry:

By adding the Show value into the Desktop, MyComputer, MyDocuments, Publishing or Recent keys it will remove it from the Open/Save dialog., as below:

To note, Recent is My Recent Documents and Publish is My Network Places:

Show 0 will hide the choice
Show 1 will unhide the choice
